Gig Harbor High School
Scholarship Program
The following scholarships are available to graduating students at Gig Harbor High School.
Established in 1992 in loving memory of Susan Staniford Adams (April 20, 1977 – November 24, 1989). Susan Adams came to the Gig Harbor area with her family, in 1983. She was an outstanding student, active in sports, loved animals, played the piano and liked to sing. Susan found some of her greatest pleasure in acting. She probably would have pursued her interest in drama. Her family and friends are pleased to offer this scholarship to a deserving student who shares this same interest.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Current graduating senior at Gig Harbor High School.
• Shall have demonstrated both ability and enthusiasm in the field of drama, either in school or
community productions.
• As long as Kopachuck Middle School remains a feeder school for Gig Harbor High School,
the student shall have attended Kopachuk before coming to Gig Harbor High School.
(This does not mean, however, that the student must have attended either Kopachuck or
Gig Harbor High School for all of his or her years in middle or high school.)
• Must have demonstrated good citizenship while attending Gig Harbor High School.
• All other criteria being equal, the scholarship shall be awarded to the student with the
greatest financial need.
• Must enroll at a two-year or four-year college or university or accredited school of visual
and performing arts within 18 months from graduation.
Established in 1994 as a loving memorial by the Monsen Family.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Current graduating senior at Gig Harbor High School.
• Must enroll at a four-year college or university.
• Must have good scholastic performance and have demonstrated good citizenship at
Gig Harbor High School, as well as in the community.
• All other criteria being equal, the scholarship shall be awarded to the student with the
greatest financial need.
Established in 1992 through the last will and testament of Jean Reine.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Current graduating senior at Gig Harbor High School and Peninsula High School.
• Must enroll at two-year or four-year college.
Established in 1994 by the Gig Harbor Tides Scholarship Foundation for her loving family, as a memorial to Tara Richards.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Current graduating senior at Gig Harbor High School.
• Must enroll at a four- year college or university.
• Must demonstrate financial need.
Established in 1989 through Belle Smith’s last will
and testament.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Current graduating senior from Gig Harbor High School and Peninsula High School.
• Must demonstrate financial need.
• Must enroll at a four-year college or university.
