Describe your work as an artist: My work is a visual record of experiences in my life that I consider significant periods of enlightenment, transformation, and growth.
Describe the importance of “community” to either you as a person or as an artist: No one exists alone. Community is essential to every aspect of our lives. We need one another to survive.
What has been inspiration for you in your work: The narrative of my life and the people around me.
Describe the Tacoma/Pierce County art community: Vibrant, growing, diverse, creative, smart, contemporary, socially conscious, and experimental.
How do you see the Tacoma/Pierce County art community changing: Maybe we are seeing growth and maturity rather than change. It seems more artists are beginning to think as a collective rather than as individuals.
