A Tour Through the Carbon River Region

The Greater Tacoma Community Foundation partnered with the Cascade Land Conservancy and the Tahoma Audubon to present our First Annual Donor Tour to learn about pressing environmental issues in Pierce County. We heard about the opportunities and challenges this region faces in stewarding our land and resources.

Our trip began at a Greater Tacoma Partnership site, featuring restoration of an urban park at Snake Lake Nature Center. From there, we toured through the Puyallup/Orting Valley, Carbonado, took a break to admire the view from High Bridge and stopped for lunch at Thompson Ranch.

This tour provided donors, volunteers and Foundation staff with a wonderful opportuntity to talk about environmental issues while experiencing the beauty of the Carbon River region.

If you are interested in attending a donor tour in the future, please contact Sherrana Kempton at sherrana@gtcf.org or 253-383-5622.
