Vibrant Community Grantmaking Program - Capital Projects

The Greater Tacoma Community Foundation believes that our community is strengthened by the strategic growth of its nonprofit agencies.  Therefore, the Community Foundation has set aside specific funds to provide grants once a year, and once per campaign for nonprofit organizations to support capital projects.

In order to qualify for a Capital Projects grant, agencies must first meet the priorities in one of the Five Grant Focus Areas and make the connection between how this capital project will maximize the opportunities for the agency to accomplish these priorities. If you are currently requesting a General Operating and Program Support (Spring or Fall) Grant, you are still eligible to apply for a Capital Projects grant.

How to Apply:

The Community Foundation considers Capital Project requests during the Spring Cycle only.  Please follow the Spring Cycle timeline for all Capital Project grant due dates.

Submit two copies of the Capital Project Letter of Interest Cover Page (click the link on the sidebar "Capital Projects LOI") to the Community Foundation by the due date.  Community Foundation staff will contact you within 10 days of the due date, to inform if you have been invited into the grant cycle.  Contact will be made via e-mail if a full grant application is requested, or through a grant declination letter.

If invited into the cycle, submit two copies of the completed Capital Project Application (click the link on the sidebar "Capital Projects Application") to the Community Foundation by the due date.  Community Foundation staff will be in contact, within 10 days of the due date, to schedule a site visit. If the main office of an organization resides outside the Pierce County limits the site visit will be conducted either at the Community Foundation office or at another Pierce County location.
