Giving that Makes a Difference
Arts organizations, affordable housing, reading programs for children, libraries, museums, parks, trails, human services, habitat conservation, public broadcasting, scholarships and so much more.  Everywhere you look The Foundation is improving the quality of life in Pierce County.

Knowing our Community
Two times a year, The Greater Tacoma Community Foundation makes grants to effective nonprofit organizations in Pierce County through our Community Grantmaking Program.

In addition, The Foundation manages over 255 funds tailored to the specific interests of Greater Tacoma area donors. These funds support a broad spectrum of organizations locally and nationally. Grants from these funds can be advised by the donor, directed to a general cause, made in memory of a loved one or directed by the knowledge and experience of Foundation staff.

From the arts and humanities to the environment, children’s services, healthcare, education and social services, The Foundation makes a difference in the community and improves the quality of life in the Greater Tacoma area.

An Active Steward
Through our grants, The Foundation helps community organizations increase their capacity to serve our communities. The Foundation believes in the expertise and creativity of nonprofit organizations, and provides support to help them do what they do best.

The Foundation regularly evaluates the nonprofits to which we give grants to assure our donors and ourselves that our funds produce the maximum benefit for improving lives.
