Grants Awarded 2004-2005:

·      Associated Ministries "Project Interdependence" : To bridge the gap for women moving from welfare to self-sufficiency. 
·      Washington Women's Employment and Education "Reach Program" : To upgrade the skills, work habits, attitudes, computer knowledge and overall employability of welfare recipients and other low-income women.
·      Sexual Assault Center: To acquire books and resources for clients and therapists.
.      Child & Family Guidance Center "Healing Hearts" : To provide sexual assault therapy for girls ages 2-12.
·      Girl Scouts of Pierce County "Beyond Bars Program" : To provide dance classes and day camp for girl's in a troop whose mothers are all incarerated at Purdy Prison.
·      Pierce County AIDS Foundation: For their Girls Night Program through the Oasis Youth Center.  Young women ages 14-24 will address bisexual and lesbian health concerns and issues of self esteem.
·      YWCA of Pierce County "Generation YW Youth Development Council" : Matching girls incarcerated at Remann Hall with adult women mentors.
·     Breast Cancer Resource Center: To support and expand their volunteer program.
·     MultiCare Health Foundation:  To provide taining for their Forensic Nurse Examiner Program. Trained nurses collect evidence to prosecute rapists.
·      Emergency Food Network Mother Earth Farm: Focusing on projects for inmates at Purdy Prison and their girls in the Girl Scout Beyond Bars Program.  Tools will be purchased and a flower garden created.  Harvested flowers will be shared with nursing home residents.
·     Catherine Place "A Season of Passages in a Woman's Life" : A therapeutic counseling program offered free of charge to women who do not have insurance. 
·     Catholic Community Services "Suited for Success at Phoenix Housing" : Providing clothing and interview coaching for women returning to work.


Grants Awarded for 2003-2004:

·      Tacoma Actors Guild: To fund scholarships for low-income girls to attend STAR Camp and to provide stipends for teenage girls who are teacher’s aids.
·      Washington Women’s Employment and Education: To provide funding for the Reach Program, helping women gain self esteem and employment through interview training and resume writing.
·      Franciscan Health Systems: To provide emergency housing  for clients of the Pierce Co. Commission Against Domestic Violence.
·      First Place for Children: To provide training for child care workers at  six daycare centers.
·      New Options for Women: For the Reintegration Image Enhancement Project, helping women who are released from Purdy Prison reintegrate into society.
·      Pierce County AIDS Foundation: For their Girls Night Program through the Oasis Youth Center.  Young women ages14-24 will address bisexual and lesbian health concerns and issues of self esteem.
·      Tacoma School of the Arts: For the BARE Project (Breast Awareness, Relationships and Education).  Female students will photograph breast cancer survivors, the ones who love them, and their surroundings.  The project will include a school presentation and exhibit.
·      YWCA of Pierce County: For support services for girls in the juvenile justice system to reduce the likelihood of continued illegal activities.
·      Boys and Girls Club of Pierce:  To start a girls only volleyball program for ages 9-14.  Funds will be used to help low-income girls pay athletic fees and to purchase equipment.
·      Museum of Glass: For the Remann Hall Project, a comprehensive arts and humanities program for incarcerated young women with a goal of reducing violent and anti-social behavior.
·      Girl Scouts of Pierce County: To create a resource library to be used by girls and their incarcerated mothers in the Girl Scout Beyond Bars Program
·      The Caring Place: To provide case managers to work with residents of confidential apartments for homeless and abused women and their children.


Grants awarded for 2002-2003:

·          Catherine Place’s “Life 101: Stages of Change Program”: Interactive learning experiences encouraging women to explore risk-taking, coping with stress & life cycles.
·          Exodus Housing’s“Safe Choices Program”: Providing transitional housing and case management to homeless women who are victims of domestic violence.
·          First Place for Children: To invest in training for their child care teachers, assisting them in career development and enhancing their ability to do their work.
·          Pacific Peaks Council “Girl Scouts Beyond Bars Program”: A troop for girls whose mothers are incarcerated, helping to decrease the traumatic effects of family disintegration.
·          Our Sisters’ House: Transitional residential group home for at-risk, adjudicated and/or homeless teenage girls.
·          Pierce County AIDS Foundation’s “Protect Yourself Program”: Providing HIV prevention education to homeless and incarcerated women.
·          Pierce County Library Foundation’s “Opening Doors to Early Learning Program”:  Workshops for at-risk, teen and new mothers on brain development and the importance of reading to their babies.
·          Red Cross-Tacoma/Pierce Co. Chapter: To provide free babysitting and first aid training courses for fifty young women.
·          Sexual Assault Center of Pierce Co.: For advocacy services that connect victims to medical, emotional and legal help.


Grants awarded for 2001-2002:

·          Tacoma Community House’s “Refugee & Immigrant Women’s Project”: an employment readiness class for Russian refugees living in the Salishan area
·          Metro Parks’ “Dancing Cultures Program”: Young women learn about various dances/cultures, production and performance skills, creating a documentary film and performance at Pantages Theater.
·          Faith Homes’ “Family Support and Criminal Justice Program”: Esteem and relationship skills building program for female youths convicted of 4th degree assault, as an alternative to incarceration or picking up trash.
·          Pacific Peaks Council Girl Scouts Program: Creating a Girl Scout troop for girls living in the Hilltop area, who are not presently being served.
·          Washington Women’s Employment and Education (WWEE) Program: Enrichment training for graduates of WWEE’s current employment readiness classes, helping women to overcome barriers to employment success.
·          Washington State Library/Washington Corrections Center for Women Program: Offers funding for enrichment materials for the Baby Read Program, helping incarcerated mothers to become better parents so their babies will get a nurturing start in life.
·          New Options for Women’s “Suited for Success Program”: Offers appropriate business clothing and self esteem classes for women entering the work force for the first time.
